Tariffs

The law requires the collective rights management organisations to publish tariffs for the remunerations they demand. Here the users should be able to purchase all rights from a single body, for which reason the law requires the collective rights management organisations to operate joint tariffs and to designate a central collecting agency. The tariffs are to be negotiated with the users' associations and must be approved by the Federal Arbitration Board for the remuneration of authors’ rights and neighbouring rights (ESchK) composed of equal numbers of representatives from each party.

Philippe Saire

"The SSA takes great care in analysing the author's creative process and often anticipates the needs that may arise when an author asserts his rights."
